#337 read your local newspaper regularly

12 Aug

As you all know, yesterday I didn’t blog. Took the day off to SLEEP. My travels were good- but due to time differences, by the time I got to my mom’s place at 10:30 am yesterday, I had only enjoyed about 4 hours of sleep. I was exhausted. Came home, slept for a couple hours, went to lunch with my sister, came home, and went back to bed until about 7 pm. I rallied and got ready for my mini-AE reuinon with Steckel and Messmer (hi guys!). It was so fun as we reminisced about all the old times and got caught up on the new times.

In today’s world there are about a billion and half issues everywhere you turn. It is none too common to hear people say, “I don’t follow the news.” Wait, what?! How can you not follow the news at all?! I for one prefer to be in the know about what’s happening in Las Vegas, the US, and the world. So the author suggests reading your paper, maybe not even on a daily basis, but at least once a week. When I used to work at Bob Evans I would get my fill in of the news during my breaks. Now, I don’t ever read an actual paper- instead prefering to read online.

My homepage is set to www.cnn.com, so I am always reading up on the national and world news before checking my email or facebooking. I also make sure to frequent www.lasvegassun.com, which catches me up on Las Vegas news and happenings. Even if you may not have time to sit down and read, I suggest letting the news play in the background as you get ready for work or get ready to go out. It’s not always pretty, but it is important to understand what is happenning…even if you aren’t directly affected. Heres some articles for your reading pleasure:

So fellow readers, as I hope my article choices show, sometimes it is not only informative to read the paper, but also interesting and funny! Until tomorrow..
